What other traits do parents look to change? Of 1,000 people who sought genetic counseling, they supported selection for mental retardation, blindness, superior intelligence, improved height and athletic ability.
Is the act of choosing a child’s traits moral? Fifteen percent of parents say that it is. Another 32% believes that it’s okay to prevent a health condition and 38% believes that it should no be allowed.
