Education is a basic human right and when many of us think about the subject we think of our own schooling system. However levels of education and access to schooling differ greatly around the world.
In the developed world it is hard to imagine a life without education. In 2010, 61 million primary school-age children were not enrolled in school. Today as many as 1 in 5 adults in the developing world are illiterate.
